Head coach
Clay Karadus returns for his second season as the bench-boss for
the young Greater Allegheny wrestling program. In the
program's inaugural season, Karadus' wrestlers went 5-5 overall and
5-3 in PSUAC matches. He had three wrestlers place third in
the PSUAC/USCAA Championships, and had one athlete named to the
USCAA All-Academic list.
Karadus has served as both an assistant and head coach at the high school level. As a Head Wrestling Coach of the Steel Valley Ironmen(2004-08), he went on to coach seven WPIAL qualifiers, one regional qualifier, Steel Valley’s first ever WPIAL finalist and Allegheny County place-winner.
As an Assistant at Woodland Hills High School, Karadus handled the training and conditioning of the wrestlers and that helped to produce five WPIAL qualifiers, one PIAA qualifier and a host of medalists from various tournaments. Karadus has also been an assistant coach at St. Mary’s Area High School in St. Mary’s PA and Mulberry High School in Polk County, FL.
Karadus earned his Bachelors degree from Penn State in 1996 and his Masters in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania in 2009. He currently serves as a Social Studies teacher in the Steel Valley School District. He lives in North Huntingdon with his wife and three daughters.
