Lou Zadecky returns for his second season as head coach of the
Greater
Allegheny women's basketball team, looking to build on his vast
success
in year one. His ladies finished 11-15 overall and qualified
for the PSUAC
playoffs with a 9-7 conference record. He then led GA to a
first round, playoff
upset, advancing them to the PSUAC Final Four. Three of
Zadecky's athletes also
would earn All-PSUAC honors.
Zadecky earned a Master of Science degree in Sports
Administration and
Management from California University of Pennsylvania in 2008. He
holds
a Pennsylvania State Certification (K-12) in Health and
Physical
Education. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and
Physical
Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1996.
Zadecky began his career at Elizabeth-Forward School District as
a
substitute teacher. Since that time he's held several teaching
and
coaching positions. He's currently a physical education teacher at
Yough
Intermediate/Middle School in the Yough School District. He has 11
years
of experience as a high school Head Coach and 11 years of
experience as
an assistant coach. For the past several years he's coach three
team
simultaneously--as head coach of the Yough High School Girl's
Basketball
team, assistant coach of the Yough High School Girl's Lacrosse
team and
assistant coach of the Southmoreland High School Varsity Football
team.
