Penn State Greater Allegheny Softball is led by third-year Head Coach, Amanda Maksin. Despite enduring a tough 2010-2011 season, Maksin placed three players on the PSUAC All-Conference team. Maksin remains optimistic that her next year's squad can continue to make great strides towards reaching the PSUAC playoffs.
In her first season at the helm, Maksin's softball team saw vast improvements in both on and off the field activities. Multiple Nittany Lions' players were named to the PSUAC All-Conference team.
Maksin played collegiately at Penn State Greater Allegheny, serving as captain in 2004 and 2005. She has coached various levels while serving as the youngest coach in the Mckeesport Girls Softball League. In impressive fashion, Maksin coached four teams in one summer, including two all-star teams.
Coach Maksin graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2007 with a B.A. in Communications and minor in English. She also holds a M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Point Park University.
